Robert Coucher

Founder and International Editor – Octane Magazine

Topic:

The Octane Journey

Honorary Guest Speaker

As a world-renowned motoring journalist based in the UK, Robert has been a judge at

the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in Monterey, California, the Salon Prive

in London, and currently sits on the Concours of Elegance Selection Committee, for theWindsor event in the United Kingdom.

Robert became a motoring journalist in the 1980’s and soon became editor of Your Classic magazine. He then went on to edit Thoroughbred & Classic Cars, before becoming the founding Editor at arguably the most famous classic car magazine in the world today, Octane.
That was in 2004, and since then Robert occupies the post of International Editor at this magazine, which offers readers a fine blend of classic and modern supercar material.
What many don’t know is that Robert cut his motoring teeth in South Africa, as he was born and bred in the mother city, Cape Town.

Robert does not own a modern car, and his beloved 1955 Jaguar XK140 has been on numerous trips to Le Mans, and has also competed in classic car rallies in Scotland, Spain and Portugal.

Robert has been lucky enough to have driven many great cars, including two Ferrari GTOs, a McLaren F1, a Bugatti Veyron, a vintage Le Mans Bentley, Aston Martin Zagato, a Jaguar C-Type on the Mille Miglia, and a Chrysler 75 at the Le Mans Classic.
